About
A room for slow music.
Why we built a slowed + reverb studio and music video maker that runs entirely in your browser.
Slowed + reverb is one of the internet's great folk art forms: someone hears a song, slows it down, wraps it in a big room, and suddenly it sounds like a memory. Millions of people make and listen to these edits every day.
The tools for making them, though, have mostly been one-trick converters: upload, wait, download, repeat. No way to hear changes as you make them, no way to compare with the original, and nothing for the video that every platform now expects.
What we believe
- Your music stays yours. Every part of Slowed Room — decoding, effects, analysis, video rendering and encoding — runs on your device. We never receive your files.
- Real-time beats render-and-wait. Creative decisions happen by ear. Every control is live.
- The video is part of the song now. So it lives in the same studio, not in another app.
- Honesty about copyright. We don't rip audio from streaming platforms, we explain what's allowed, and we built in a library of music you're actually permitted to remix.
- No account wall. Your projects save themselves in your browser.
How it works
Slowed Room is built on the Web Audio API with a custom phase-locked pitch shifter, algorithmically generated convolution reverbs, binaural HRTF panning for 8D, and on-device tempo and key detection. Videos are drawn frame by frame from the actual audio and encoded with your browser's hardware video encoder (WebCodecs).
