FAQ

Questions about the nightcore maker.

What is nightcore?

Nightcore is a style of remix where a song is sped up — usually 120–135% — so the pitch rises too, giving it a bright, energetic, high-pitched sound. The name comes from a Norwegian duo that popularised it in the early 2000s.

What’s the difference between nightcore and “sped up”?

They overlap. “Sped up” edits on TikTok are usually milder (110–120%) and keep the original mix, while nightcore goes faster and brighter. Both use tape-style speed changes where pitch follows tempo.

Can I speed up a song without changing the pitch?

Yes — switch Speed mode to “Keep pitch”. Our phase-locked pitch engine keeps the key the same while the tempo changes.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Everything runs in the browser, including the export. On phones you can share the finished file straight to TikTok or Instagram.

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up and no file limits beyond your device’s memory.
