What gives an edit the phonk feel
Phonk is a genre with its own production style — Memphis rap samples, cowbell melodies, distorted 808s. Most phonk edits online, though, put an existing song through a recognizable treatment: massive, saturated low end, a slightly slower or faster tempo, a small dark room, and bold, aggressive visuals. That treatment is what the Phonk preset recreates.
The preset, explained
| Control | Setting | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Bass boost | +10 dB | The 808s take over |
| Warmth | 45% | Saturation adds grit and harmonics |
| Speed | 0.92× | A little heavier and darker |
| Reverb | Room 16%, dark | A tight, enclosed space |
| Low cut | 30 Hz | Removes sub-rumble so the boost stays punchy |
Making the video
- Scenes: Neon Halo or Oscilloscope suit the aggressive sound; City Nights for drift edits.
- Typeface: Gothic (blackletter) or Bold is the classic phonk look; set letter case to uppercase.
- Palette: Ember or Mono, with Beat pulse around 60–80% so the frame hits with the kick.
- For drifting-car clips, use your own video as the background and keep the text minimal.
